Class Enrollment
A completed registration form and payment in full or your first monthly installment (based on the location) must be received for a student to be enrolled in a class. Classes are limited by enrollment minimums and maximums. Payment must be submitted with a registration form or your registration will not be processed. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment you will be offered the chance to transfer to another class or will be given a 100% refund. Students must be registered 48 hours before a class meets in order to attend the first day.
Showcase Participation
Our performance classes (Musical Theatre, Acting, Improv Ensemble, Dance Technique, Theatre Skills, etc) work towards a public performance in the Spring Showcase at the end of the season. The purpose of those classes is to build performance skills through rehearsal and to give each student an opportunity to display their developing skills in the class numbers. Students enrolled in a Performance Class are REQUIRED to perform with their class at the Showcase, unless alternative arrangements have been made with the instructor. If your family cannot participate in the Showcase because of a previously scheduled event you must notify your instructor at the beginning of the semester. Depending on the situation we may be able to accommodate your child's absence, or they may need to be transferred to an online class or private coaching instead.
Production Participation
Students must be enrolled in a Forefront Arts theatre class or other training experience (at any location, a correspondence class or private coaching) to participate in any of our school-year productions with Young Actors Ensemble or FATE. Students will receive a wide spectrum of theatre training and performance technique development in our classes, so that our rehearsals can focus primarily on preparing for each show.
Dropping Out of a Show
We take production participation very seriously and the majority of our families do as well. Enrolling in our production troupes, Young Actors Ensemble and FATE, is a serious commitment to the rest of the group and we expect every cast member to honor their commitment through the final performance. Dropping out of a show effects every other family involved in the production, whether you drop out the day of auditions or the week before the show. Because of the effect of their decision on the rest of the group, if a student chooses to break their commitment contract and drop out of a show, they will not be allowed to participate in a show the following season.
Class Visitors
We conduct closed rehearsals, which means that only the staff and the students are allowed in our classrooms during class or rehearsal. Students are not allowed to bring friends to class as visitors, unless they have cleared it with the instructor before hand, or it is an official Visitation Day. Visitors must complete a registration form and parental waiver in order to participate in a class. A participation fee for one class may be charged based on the situation. Those considering enrolling in a future session may attend a Showcase or other public performance. Class enrollment is generally available for the first several weeks of each session, based on space.
Visitors are not allowed in the classroom without prior approval, for security reasons, and because it is distracting for the students. You are always welcome to observe the class through the window in the classroom doors. If you have questions about your child's class and would like to observe a session, please contact our office to arrange a class visit. Instructors will be informed in advance of any parents observing the class.
Class Withdrawals/Refunds
Because our classes have set enrollment minimums and maximums please do not register until you are certain you will be able to participate. Our instructors are hired and plan their schedules for the semester based on our enrollment numbers. Please note that our class tuition is non-refundable. Once enrolled in a class or production, students are responsible for the full cost, regardless of whether they participate or not. Written notice by December 1 is required to withdraw from the class for spring semester. If withdrawal notice is not submitted, students automatically continue in the class through spring semester to the performance at Spring Showcase.
If a student gives us written notice of withdrawal at least 30 days before the session is set to begin, we will extend a credit for the tuition to be used for Summer Camp, less a $35 administrative fee. No credits will be given for cancellations less than 30 days before the session begins.
Summer Camp Withdrawal/Refunds
Because our camps have set enrollment minimums and maximums please do not register until you are certain you will be able to participate. Payment in full is required to register a student for one of our camps. Cancellations before May 1 will receive a refund, less a $35 administrative fee. No refunds will be given after May 1. Campers are able to transfer their registration to another camp week, as long as space is available.
Payment by Check
If you prefer to pay your class tuition by check please email info@ForefrontArts and let us know your intent to send a check so that we can be looking for it. Mail your check to Forefront Arts, P.O. Box 3261, Lilburn GA 30048. A confirmation email will be sent when your check has been received. Bounced checks will result in a $20 fee.
Late Payment Fees
If paying in monthly installments, tuition is due on the 1st of each month using your card on file. If your card is declined we will contact you to make alternate payment arrangements. A late fee of $10 will be assessed after the 10th of the month. Accounts not paid by the 15th will result in a student not being able to participate in class or production rehearsals until the balance and fees are resolved.
