CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Creative Dramatics -- campers ages 3/4-6 (3 year olds accepted for Moana theme if potty-trained) will learn vocal & physical warm-ups, create stories, do crafts, enjoy playground time, learn upstage/downstage and other stage terms, play drama & imagination games, and rehearse songs & dances for the camp show!  Campers do not audition for individual roles, but rather perform as a group in the camp production, for a great introduction to theatre performance.

(If your rising 1st grader can read/write independently and has attended our camps/classes before, you can also contact us to discuss enrolling in the Full-Day production camps.  Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis based on teacher recommendations).

Visual Art Camps -- ages 5-10 will create sets, costume pieces, & props for our camp production as well as fun projects to take home.  Each art camp coordinates with that week's theatre performance.  Campers can enroll in just Art Camp 1-3 pm, or participate in morning Creative Dramatics camp and then stay for complimentary Lunch Bunch 12-1 pm.  This is a great option for kids interested in visual art or production design!

Musical Theatre Production Camps -- 2nd grade- age 14 campers audition the first day to determine specific roles, and then everyone gets to work learning performance skills!  Throughout the week campers learn physical & vocal warmups, play drama & improv games, receive instruction in Acting, Singing, and Dancing from theatre professionals, learn stage terms & theatre history, work on physicality and stage awareness, characterization, projection/enunciation, and so much more!  We put it all together at the end of the week in our camp performance!  For larger camps, we split the campers into the following age groups for some activities: Primary (1st/2nd), Performance (3rd-5th), and Principal (6th-8th).  The majority of time is spent working with everyone in your songs/scenes so various ages will be working together the majority of the time.  All levels of experience are welcome!

Advanced Camp -- Ready for the next level of camp performance? Campers in 4th-12th grade with previous performance/training experience will love our 2-week advanced camp.  Enjoy all your favorite parts from our Musical Production camps, except at a higher level of instruction  We'll have 2 weeks to really dive in, enjoy more in-depth workshops in Acting, Character Analysis, Voice & Movement, Physicality & Choreography, Costumes & Props Design, plus more time for drama & improv games, more challenging choreography & music (hello harmonies!) and more!  (Campers who do not have previous experience but possess a strong desire to perform and natural talent can contact us to submit a video audition prior to registering)

Backstage Design--  calling all campers in 4th-12th grade who like working with their hands, are interested in visual art or production design, or who want to work with power tools!  Students will work with a professional designer to create props, set pieces, & costume pieces, as well as learn stage-management skills.  Campers will assist backstage during the camp performances to receive a full stage management/stage crew experience.  Space is limited to 8 students per week so register early!

Improv/Sketch Comedy -- campers in 3rd-8th grade will enjoy this non-musical camp option with TONS of drama games, acting instruction, rehearsal of comedic scenes, writing sessions to create original skits, and tons of improv exercises!  Put it all together for a variety show at the end of the week!

Teen Summer Stock -- 7th-12th graders will love our Summer Stock option for our oldest & most serious students.  We'll be working on a Pasek & Paul revue featuring Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman, La La Land, James & The Giant Peach, SMASH, and more!  Enjoy workshops with our professional theatre instructors in Acting, Vocal Work, Physicality & Characterization, Voice & Movement, and more, plus rehearsal for the show at the end of the week. Longer days (9 am - 5 om daily) give us extra time to dive into the show material and performance techniques!
